Savings, dark mode and iPhone Duo
With this release, the app shows you what your home could save on energy, based on how you actually use it, and the simple steps to get there.
Your savings opportunity

Savings takes the power your home has used over the last 12 weeks, circuit by circuit, and works out what you could save. It shows the result on a gauge, from Worst on the left to Optimal on the right, with what you're set to spend in the middle.
To open Savings:
- On the Home screen, tap an insight card to open Usage.
- Tap the filter button.
- Select Savings from the menu.
Choose M to see the next month, or Y to see the next year.
Your savings opportunity is rated from Minimal to Very high, so you can see at a glance how much room there is to save. If you're already within 1% of the best you could do, the gauge sits at Optimal.
Tap the (i) button for answers to common questions, like how the figure is calculated and why it changes from week to week.
Note: Savings needs 12 weeks of data from your Basis panel. Until then, a counter shows how many weeks are left.
Lower your costs

Below the gauge, the Lower your costs card lists the changes that get you to optimal savings. Tap a row to act on it.
- Switch energy plan. If another plan would cost you less for the way you use power, the card names it. Tap it to see the plan and its rates.
- Hot water routines. Heating your water at cheaper times is one of the easiest ways to save. Tap Set up to create a routine with the suggested schedule already filled in. If you already have one, tap Update to adjust it.
Once you've taken a step, its row gets a green tick. If you have more than one hot water circuit, the card shows your progress, like 1 of 3 routines. It covers hot water circuits on every panel at your property, whichever panel you're looking at.
Note: Savings uses your plan's rates and daily charges only. Joining credits, bundles and free-power hours aren't included, so your real bill may differ.
Routines across all your panels
If you have more than one panel, the Routines overview now shows routines from all of them, each labelled with its panel's name. When you create or edit a routine, you can pick a circuit on any panel.
The panel switch has moved from the Home screen to the Control screen. Your Home screen now covers the whole property: if any panel goes offline, you'll see it there, whichever panel you're controlling.
Note: Properties with a single panel work exactly as before.
Dark mode

The Basis Home app on iPhone now comes in dark. Go to Settings → Customise → Theme and choose Light, Dark or System.
System is the default, so the app now follows your iPhone's appearance. If your phone is set to dark, the app will open in dark after you update.
Note: Dark mode is available only on iOS currently.
Made for iPhone Duo

Open your iPhone Duo and the Basis Home app spreads out to use the bigger screen. The Home tab shows your home summary on one side and your insight cards on the other, and each column scrolls on its own.
Insights, Control, Routines and Activity work the same way: pick something from the list and its detail opens alongside, so you don't lose your place. The app's buttons also move clear of the Duo's control column. The same layouts apply on iPad.
