Basis
Go back
I've been lucky enough to install five Basis Boards in brand new builds, and I'm now onto retrofits. For me they're a whole lot quicker to install. You turn up knowing what to expect, there's not too much that can jump out and surprise you, and everything has its place, so they just go really smoothly. I reckon there's space in every house for one, from people who want to geek out on where their power's going, to families looking to save a bit here and there, to homes with solar and EV chargers. It brings a whole other level of monitoring to your electrical installation.

On the install

With five new-build installs behind him and his first retrofits now underway, Sean knows his way around a Basis Board. The thing he keeps coming back to is how predictable the install is. Everything has its place in the panel, so he turns up knowing exactly what to expect and there's not much that can jump out and surprise him. It all goes together smoothly and a good deal quicker than a standard switchboard.

What stood out

For Sean the big win is speed. The panels are a whole lot quicker to install, and because everything has its place you turn up knowing what to expect with few surprises along the way, so the job goes smoothly. He reckons there's space in every house for one, from people who want to geek out on where their power's going, to families looking to save a bit here and there, to homes with solar and EV chargers. As he puts it, it brings a whole other level of monitoring to your electrical installation.

Outcome

Six installs in and counting. Quicker, more predictable, and a new level of monitoring for any home.
